Background
Free speech is a basic human right. All young people, whatever their background, should feel able to exercise this right, and to speak out openly about the issues that matter to them.
Free-D is a national initiative which aims to provide people aged 16-30 with safe, supportive local environments where they can voice their opinions and find solutions. Free-D seeks to engage communities in free discussion and create trusted outlets for expression.
Free-D in the community
Free-D wants to enable trusted community leaders and influencers to set up their own face-to-face discussions.
These could be around challenging topics such as multicultural tensions in UK society, or how global events affect local communities. It aims to create opportunities for positive engagement around these issues.
