The Free-D initiative launches nationally today – 18 September 2009. To mark the launch, 15 local authorities have been allocated funding to hold Free-D events from the CLG Challenge and Innovation Fund. The selected local authorities are: Gloucester, Plymouth, Kirklees, Calderdale, Peterborough, Derbyshire, Oldham, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Windsor and Maidenhead, Gravesham, Medway, Worcestershire and Solihull. More information on local activity will be available on this website soon.
Created to encourage safe forums for local communities to address controversial issues, Free-D seeks to engage 16-30 year olds in free discussion and to create trusted outlets for expression.
