More students to 'miss out on degrees' this year

College courses and apprenticeships should be considered by those who don’t get into university this Autumn, according to Lord Mandelson. 

Mandelson, Universities Secretary, said: “There would be more disappointed students than usual this year due to limited places. …The answer is not to guarantee places for every university hopeful.”
