Social networking: how do you choose your friends?

With a focus on safety, privacy, CCTV, Big Brother and a nanny state, participants will be directed towards resources. Looking at internet safety and how people can be targeted and decieved to encourage participants to think about protecting themselves and their friends. Contact Olivia for log in details. Unite Against Racism: a discussion

1001 Inventions Trip & Discussions

London & Bristol

The Quran Academy, Bristol have organised a trip for their young members to London's Science Museum to see the 1001 Inventions exhibition. The visit will then be followed by a discussion on what stops young people from achieving their ambitions.

Voice For Young People

Greek Community Centre, on Lower Ashley Road, Easton, Bristol

Somali  Youth Education and Welfare Foundation (SYEWF) have organised a Voice For Young People event, where Somali young people will have a opportunity to express their opinions. The event panel members are: Abdirahman Ibrahim Aden (Abees),   Abdilaahi Ali Ibrahim and Kaysar (Somali Voice). Discussion topics will include multicultural tensions in the UK, Somali culture and traditions, education and anti social behaviour. The event will run from 1-6pm.

The Power of Politics in Faith: to vote or not to vote that is the question

The Multi-Faith Centre, Derby supported by the Free-D initiative is hosting a visit to Parliament and a debate afterwards at Speakers Corner, Hyde Park on Thursday 25 March 2010 at 4pm. How do young people across faith communities connect with politics? Do they feel they have a voice or are they marginalised in the debate? Should they, or do they care and if not why not? How does the relationship between religious state and society play out in communities on the ground? Join us and have your say!

Islam Today: The Truth

Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosque

This event aims to tackle contemporary issues and shed light upon the true teachings of Islam regarding matters such as terrorism, freedom of speech, rights of women, and Islam in the west. The session includes an introductory speech by the guest speaker followed by a question and answer session. The event will be in two slots: 10.00am-11.00am and 11:00am-12:00pm
